BIO
Mari H. Bermingrud (b. 1986) is from Drammen and grew up in the Norwegian marching band tradition. This background has been crucial for her career as both a performer and educator.
Mari holds a performance degree from the Conservatory of Music in Tromsø and the Academy of Music in Gothenburg, as well as a music pedagogy degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music. Additionally, she is one of the few brass educators in Norway teaching the internationally recognized Suzuki Method. The combination of her marching band background and Suzuki-inspired teaching makes Mari a unique and sought-after educator for young musicians.
In 2020, Mari co-founded the Elvebyen Brass Quartet, an active and creative ensemble that commissioned works from some of Norway’s most prominent composers.
